You don't have to call yourself an artist.
Classes for adults who want to make something with their hands — whether you've taken twenty art classes or none at all.

This studio exists because people like you kept asking.
For nineteen years I taught art in a middle school, and for most of those years adults would wander past my room, look in, and say the same thing: that looks like so much fun — I wish I could come do that.
So here it is. Same room, same feeling, door open.
Skills that outlast the artwork
"I'm not artistic."
I hear that constantly, and those are my favorite students to work with. Maybe someone told you when you were young, or maybe you just decided along the way and never went back to it. Either way, you'll get real instruction here, zero judgment, and nobody looking over your shoulder comparing your work to theirs.
Already have a practice?
Then studio time is yours to direct. You'll still get the demos and the material exploration if you want them, but the point is your work and your direction — bring a project, push into a medium you've never tried, or just use the time and the company to keep going.
Two hours that are actually yours
No screens, no news, no scrolling. Just materials, a table, and other people doing the same thing. Some of what happens here is the making. A good amount of it is the company.
The same approach — not a scaled-down one
Adult classes run on the same teaching model as everything else here: technique, then exploration, then your own work. Not because it's simple, but because learning to think like an artist works the same way at nine and at forty-nine.
Getting to the studio
Students come to Blue Cow from all over the Upper Valley. If you're nearby, walking over is an easy option — and for younger students at walking distance, I can arrange to meet them and walk them to the studio.
