Linoleum Landscapes - Wednesdays

Linoleum carving is a wonderful artistic process to get involved with! In this engaging and fun class, you will learn the steps needed to design, carve, and print  a landscape image that has a personal connection for you.

  • We’ll start with the basics; exploring how cross contour lines can help to define forms, and how to create a variety of marks and values with the carving tool.

  • We’ll create some practice prints to help you wrap your head around “thinking backwards” as you design your images, and learn how focusing on the artistic elements of line, texture, and contrast can impact on your image.

  • You will design, transfer, and carve your image onto a block of soft linoleum and do many test prints along the way to keep an eye on your progress towards your finished piece.

  • All tools and materials are included.
