for kids & teens
Where your kid learns to trust their own ideas.
After-school classes, workshops, and camps for kids and teens of every skill level. No experience needed — just a willingness to try something.
More than a craft project
Every class starts with real instruction — a technique demo, time to practice, and room to experiment with the material. Then comes studio time, where your kid decides what to make and how to make it. They leave with work that's actually their own, not one of fifteen copies of the same picture.
Skills that outlast the artwork
Original thinking.
Coming up with their own idea, then working out how to pull it off — the skill every teacher, coach and employer says they want and almost nobody teaches directly.
Problem-solving.
Materials don't always cooperate. Working through that is the lesson.
Creative independence.
Making choices, changing course, and owning the result.
Comfort with not-yet.
Being new at something without deciding they're bad at it.
A note on fridge art
Some weeks your kid will come home with a finished piece. Some weeks they'll come home having spent the whole class experimenting with clay and tell you they "made nothing." Those weeks matter just as much — that's where the confidence gets built, and it's usually what the finished piece three weeks later is standing on.
Getting to the studio
Students come to Blue Cow from all over the Upper Valley. If you're nearby, walking over is an easy option! The Studio is also on the Brown Bus Line.
