Lino Stamps: Playing with Pattern - Tuesdays

In this exploratory printmaking class, we will create our own small, lino carved pattern blocks and see what we can do with them!  

• We’ll begin with investigating repetitive pattern designs and making some sketches of your ideas.  You’ll choose one to transfer to linoleum and we’ll learn how to carve and print it.

• The next round, you’ll be challenged to design a pattern that depends on two motifs interacting, and we’ll explore how color can bring your design to new places!

• Finally, you’ll design a new set of motifs that you will print on a tea towel or canvas tote.
