Painting Basics for the Artistically Curious - Mondays

If you’ve been away from painting for a long while (or maybe never even gave it a go) and are interested, but hesitant, to try it out - this is the class for you… we’re going back to the basics! This class leads you through a crash-course in basic acrylic painting in a fun and relaxed learning environment.  

• Our focus will be on: basic color mixing and color theory (what colors play well together), exploring with different brushes, and learning basic painting techniques, like smooth blending, sgraffito, and other fun things!  

• We’ll play around with loosening up your painting style, trying your hand at observational painting, and working up to creating a still life or landscape that is in your own voice and style.  

• There will be studio time built in along the way so you have plenty of time to play around with the materials and techniques, and to explore your ideas!  

• This is a low-key, low-risk class focused on building your comfort levels and filling your painting toolbox!

All supplies and materials are included: just bring your curiosity, an open mind, and your sense of humor!
